Looking to remap the bird with tune ecu. I'm currently running de-cat short tors and a K&N filter. Can anyone suggest a map to install please.

Thanks

If it is a 1700, try this tune.

Only for 1700 cc engines.

Runs with or without CAT.
Slipons or aftermarked exhaust / TORS
Airbox eliminator capable.
Smooth idle and no jerky throttle at low RPM.
More power in lower gears.
Better low, and mid range torque.
Must run with OX sensors installed, and enabled.
I recommend RON 95 / OCT 91.

Let it adapt for at least 500 km.

Go to the second last page in the tune repository and try Aussietbird's tune, it's been quite successful. below is the description that you want, tune is with it.

Ok, I been stuffing around for several years now, fuelling, ignition and F/L switching.
With feedback, and ideas from many of the helpful peoples here, here is the tune I'm settling for. (for now maybe )
It suits my style and type of riding needs, it returns fuel economy on the cruise, yet stomps hard when needed.
Short TOR's (well burnt out), decat with elbows, stock paper air filter, premium fuel only.
Note O2 censors are operative, switch that option if you like, however as much as it will go hard, fuel economy will suck.

G'day all would Aussiebirds tune also suit mine or is there another option ?
09 1600 Stainetune exhaust, decat, Uni filter & SAI ?
I've just recently purchased the bike and got 200k's in before lock down.
Thanks

Looks pretty close, you can remove the SAI or block it off ( there will be info on that on here from early pages, search SAI in the first two years) then that option can be disabled in TuneEcu software.

Did the tune and blocked off the SAI this morning and all seems good, minimum decel popping and smooth in all gears.
restricted by the lockdown but managed a quick sprint on the freeway and no problems.
Love the sound off this bike.
Thanks

Your very welcome. LOL

A little update.
Re: that tune.

After 80,000k's, on that tune, not that the girl was showing any signs mind you, I bothered to pull the plugs.
Smashing I thought, if I didn't already have the new plugs layed out on the bench gapped already to go, I'm pretty sure I would have just bunged the old ones back in. Even the gap was still perfect after 80k, colour perfect.

Most pleased.

But had the tank off for a fuel filter change, again 80k, and while I was at it, replace that screaming fuel pump.
From day one this std fuel pump has almost driven me to despair, remember I'm an ole fart who is half deaf anyway.

So I tried out from fleabay, one of those Kemso fuel pumps.

Well, story behind that. (1) the strainers supplied in the thunderbird kit, just don't efen fit, period end of story. So had to painstakingly clean without breaking the old strainer. (2) the body is ever so slightly smaller, so clamping into the filter/pump assembly requires a rubber strip to be fitted between the clamp to the pump body.

Up shoot is, compared to the std triumph unit, its near bloody silent, works fine zero problems, and one third of the cost.

Now for another absolutely hassle free, 80,000k's

My apologies to all for being a slack prick, and not dropping by earlier. Between this Covid-19 shit thing, work, family members falling off the perch and other projects, been kinda busy.

Therefore if we ever get passed this Covid-19 shit thing, and I can break free, of these damn restrictions, ya can all line up and slap me. You just never know I might just like it. Pic of one of the plugs straight out of the bike, not cleaned in anyway, as I said straight out of the bike. The other 3 plugs all looked the same.

About time you showed up!!

I've had a Kemso pump fitted for a few years now, did it after doing the lap. The poor old pump was struggling with all the crap I had picked up around the country.

The old pump, is in surprisingly good nick, just plain bloody noisy.

And I have a cunning plan for it. It will be going into the reserve tank on the trailer, plan is with my spare tank in the shed, is to add another fuel inlet pipe with quick release, to enable fuel transfer between the bike and the trailer reserve tank.

That will give me over 1,000k's range, without having to stop, now is all I gotta do is eliminate piss and coffee stops

Iron butts move the hell over.

Why not disconnect the SAI, there is info on this here, probably search in the first two years as it was quite a common mod back then.

Wasn't that fussed wether it was on or off to be honest but done a search and it appears all that's required is to pull the rear hose off block the end and reattach hose ,
